Dance Recital Show and Rehearsal Details!

Hello Everyone! Finally, the details are coming together.

Show Day: Friday, May 22 6:30 pm (about an hour in length), Tickets purchased from Strathspey Place Theatre in Mabou directly – $8 per ticket, children under 3 are free but will need a ticket – 902-945-5300.
*
Dancers do not need a ticket, and will be either backstage with a volunteer parent, or sitting in the first three rows of the theatre until their turn on stage.
*
Proceeds from the show cover the costs of the theatre, production, and preparations. Any remaining monies will be donated to Children’s Wish on behalf of the dancers.

Details about arrival to the theatre etc. will be sent closer to show time.

Costume Week: April 20 – 25
To prepare for the show, all classes will have one day to get dressed up for class with costumes, makeup, hair, props etc. Everyone should have their details for this already. Please ask if you are not sure. We will go over the costumes and details at the start of class that week.

We will try to run as close to on-time as possible, but be prepared for any delays with younger dancers or shy dancers, or stage challenges with spacing. I always strive to make sure the dancers feel ready for the show, so this is my top priority. By arriving early, watching other rehearsals, and having practiced at home, dancers will be their best for their times.

I have put two finales in – one for older dancers, and one for younger – hopefully this will help with confusion and such we have experienced in the past.

It is a much smaller show than last year, so we should be able to move dancers on and off the stage easily and marshal them to reserved seating in the front row for any long wait. We will need a parent volunteer to stay with the group during rehearsals and show time – please let me know if you would like to be this person. You will not need a ticket if you are backstage with them during show time.

Thank you everyone for your support of the dance program this year. I look forward to seeing how the performances transform over the next few weeks as we get closer to show time. Please feel free to video, take notes etc during class so you can help your dancer rehearse at home.

Any questions, please just ask…
