The Wishing Jar

The Wishing Jar

We are enjoying the Wishing Jar in both the Dance Classes as well as the Qi YINtegration programs this season.  For the little ones in dance, they can create their jar with stickers and jewels, as well as little treasures that are special to them.  They don’t need to include sand, and a plastic container that is small enough to fit into the palm of their hand for ease of movement is best.  For older dancers and adults, I leave your choices up to you.  Check out what I have included in mine with the explanation below.

The opportunity to dance or move with your wishes can create a new way to look at situations.  Create your jar with inspiration items that will bring your vision into clarity.  In this jar there is sand for the culmination of experience that comes with time to bring about wisdom and support for new opportunities going forward.  The Sea glass represents the experiences that have been challenging and life changing to create a time of beauty that can be celebrated now and in the future.  One of the rocks is in the shape of a heart to remind my being to offer from the heart, to connect with the heart and to be true to the heart.  The ceramic tile that has been polished with time supports the wisdom that has come from others to be shared for learning and growth.  The sea shells represent the hardiness of life and the support that comes from the strength of others.  The clear container reminds me that I can see all aspects at each moment and that with a shift of weight or position I can see much more than I realized was there.  Perspective is in the eye of the beholder.
