We loved sharing CUPS with our hands and our feet

Hello Everyone! I am so excited to share the news about our two shows on May 25th. Dancers from Cheticamp to Port Hawkesbury and across the Causeway share an afternoon of fun entertainment with their circus antics for “Under the Big Top”. With over 100 dancers performing from age 3 to 14, and only a few years experience for them all, they shared tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, and character work with the audience. We expanded our performing opportunity to two shows and had almost a sell out for the first show, and a great success for the second show.

Dancers were excited to be able to put all of their efforts from the year into two presentations and it was delightful backstage to see the energy rise as the day progressed and the confidence grew. The initial nerves of the first show were calmed by the second show, and personal bests were displayed everywhere.

One of the initiatives for the show was to raise funds to support our local theatre as well as to support Children’s Wish. Due to the kindness of our patrons we were able to expand our theatre experience and raise $200 for Strathspey Place and $476 for Children’s Wish.

Thank you to both the County of Inverness Recreation Department and the Port Hawkesbury Recreation Department for their support of the dance programs. Thank you to the parents and students for their devotion to dance and to learning, and to all of those who assisted through the year to keep the programs running!

We are excited for the launch of next year’s programs and the learning that will be happening in 2014-2015!

See you in September!
