It is an exciting time to be preparing the new programs for the year, as well as continuing the inspirational programs that are continuing to be offered.  Here is what is available to you through this network…

Tai Chi

Monday in Belle Cote, Tuesday in Judique, Thursday in Mabou, Friday in Belle Cote and Inverness, Saturday in Port Hawkesbury.  For more information check the calendar for times and locations.  Our spring workshop will likely be in May…details are just beginning!  A summer workshop is also planned for July.

Dance

Our dance program has been extra special this year with a combination with Touch for Health techniques.  Dancers have been learning about muscles and movement, quick ways to inspire the body to be better, and of course, having fun with dance.  We have some spaces available in our programs which continue now until show time on May 10th.

Therapeutic Touch for Families

A special new program to bring simple tools to parents and children that can help with injuries, pains, sleep challenges, stress, headaches and more.  This 4 hour course is launched this month.  The full list is at the bottom of this blog post.

10 – 12pm           Tai Chi Cape Breton        Join us as we explore the healing powers of the Tai Chi Foundations and 108 Moving Meditation of Master Moy Lin Shin.  Tai Chi and Qi Gong are an easy, low impact, stretching and strengthening way to change the moving patterns of the body.  Studies show that many of our ailments can be relieved by practicing this ancient art form, this can include blood pressure, diabetes, chronic pain, headaches, joint pain, energy levels, sleep patterns, breathing patterns, allergies, inflammation and more.  Registration is in a 4 month cycle, with classes running throughout the year.  September to December is $45. Students may attend as many classes as they like throughout the week with their membership. (This is a not for profit program, and your instructor is a volunteer in honor of Master Moy’s wishes that all teachings come from the heart and that Tai Chi be available to all).

12 – 1:15pm       Qi YINtegration Set 7    Have you ever wondered about the chakra system and its link to your posture and wellness?  Have you assessed what your posture is really telling you?  How can you move specifically to adjust the way your body reacts to emotion and stress?  These are some of the questions we will be addressing in our next two sessions of Qi YINtegration.  You will learn how to muscle test, how to assess the posture, how to understand life stresses on the body, how it affects the 5 Element systems as well as the Chakras.  We will move to change patterns using the 5 Element Set with Sound and Color, Kundalini Rising, and the Wishing Jar to name the more in-depth patterns.  We also use basic patterns like sitting, standing, breathing, turning.  This is a whole new way to bring energy and vitality into your world.  No previous experience is necessary.  Session 1: Jan 14, 21, 28, Feb 4, 11, 18, 25, Mar 4.  Session 2:  Mar 4, 11, 18, 25, April 1, 8, 15, 29, May 6.

Dance Debut presents: “Dance, It’s a Natural Thing”.  With a theme around nature, colors, animals, elements, music, plants, art, and more…our exploration will include dance techniques from Specialized Kinesiology that provide strength, flexibility and coordination.  There are a few spaces available for anyone interested in joining the dance program.

1– 2 pm   Tai Chi for Stress Release:  Join us for an introduction to Tai Chi for Health and Relaxation.  Often chosen as an exercise form to de-stress the body, improve sleep quality, and to increase range of motion, see how a few movement opportunities in a sequence can provide you with strength, vitality and freedom of movement.  Beginners welcome, and alternatives available for those requiring a seated alternative.   Cost:  $55 for 8 weeks Session 1:   Jan 11 18, 25, Feb 1, 8, 15, 22, Mar 1, Session 2:  March 8, 15, 22 (no class), 29, April 5, 12, 19 (no class), 26, May 3, 10.

February 24th  Therapeutic Touch® for Families    Have you ever wishes you could assist more with a sprain or cut or fall when you child is injured?  This 4 hour family course introduces the family to tools from Therapeutic Touch® that can help to reduce pain, destress the situation, calm for sleep, and provide a tool for the whole family to use.  Together the family will be able to explore the techniques and gain experience with different scenarios.  Suitable for ages 6 years and older.  Preregistration with Michelle is required by February 15th to prepare materials.  The cost is $50 per family.
